College Admissions Rates for Class of 2026 Released

Top Universities See Declining Acceptance Rates

As the admissions process for the Class of 2026 draws to a close, several highly selective colleges and universities have released their overall admission rates. The results show a continued trend of declining acceptance rates, with some schools reaching record lows.

MIT

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) reported an overall admission rate of 4% for the Class of 2026. This marks a slight decrease from last year's rate of 4.5% and the lowest acceptance rate in the school's history.

Harvard College

Harvard College, which does not require early applications, released its early action decisions for the Class of 2026. The college offered admission to 711 applicants out of a pool of 3,376, resulting in an overall admission rate of 22.17%.

Princeton University

Princeton University has not yet released its official admission rate for the Class of 2026, but early data suggests that it will be highly competitive. According to the university's website, Princeton expects to admit approximately 1,660 students from a pool of over 27,000 applicants.
